I feel like this year's fashion week was a tad disappointing. Nothing was really different and it is hard to tell exactly which designs belong to which designer because of the use of similar designs and colors. There was an overwhelming use of khaki, army green, white, and a pop of yellow in pretty much every collection. when viewing the photos, one design team stuck out beyond the rest, Rodarte. Rodarte dares to be different. The Mulleavy sisters are not afraid to take chances. They are not as commercial as their competitors at fashion week, but they bring something different to the table. I like that they are pushing women to step out in bold prints and shrugs that refuse to be conventional. Their dresses are really inspiring in that they do something new for the market of dresses. Their dress collection look like elegant silk scarves, except that instead of wearing them around your neck, you wear them on your whole body. They also translated this look into their pants. I love their use of color and pattern. To spice it up, at the end of their collection, they added gold which adds a goddess-esque feel to their draped dresses. A very interesting and detail-oriented collection.
